After spending four days on Twin Lake and four days on Lava lake, both in the middle of nowhere in the Deschutes National Forest, I was ready for the coast, for civilization, for a TV show (even a lousy summer rerun) and the internet. Don’t get me wrong, the stay  on the lakes was great. The area was beautiful, the sunsets awesome and our camping neighbors were friendly and fun. Hubby fished, I read, relaxed and took photos.  I had signed up for an email class on Black and White photography with my local photography Meet Up group back home. (I had access to the internet on my phone, not the greatest way to read a photography lesson, but it worked.) It’s just that there was no touring to do, sights to see or exciting things to post about, but these are usually our favorite stops. Here’s a look at what it was like:
Not too shabby, right? But we looked forward to getting back to the coast; Heceta Beach, near Florence to be exact. Â They were, obviously, near the beach, they offered full hookups (Yay, a long, hot shower) and internet (finally, I can post.) Â Not so fast. The campground, Heceta Beach RV Park, was lovely. We could hear the ocean waves and fog horns from our site. Unfortunately, this is where we first encountered Hughes Communications. Slowwwwww is the only word for it, and it could only be accessed by the IPAD, the apple laptop was unable to connect to it. Okay, the glass is half full, we have some access, I still can’t post or upload photos, but there was lot’s to see and do. We toured the coastal areas from Florence to past Newport, we ate Chinese food (we had a craving, first Chinese in four months,) we had chowder at Mo’s, we got the car’s oil changed and found out we had a tire going flat (kudos to Les Miles tire in Florence, they fixed it for free.) Â It was great being back on the Oregon coast. We had a sampling of it earlier in the trip at Cannon Beach and this area was equally as stunning. It poured rain all day our last day, so we did not get to see the Dunes at Honeyman State Park. Bummer, I guess we will have to go back.
Your photos are great. I really like the B&W “Lava Lake” and the “Bridge at Newport”. Continued safe travels.
