Who am I, you ask? A very existential question. Jack of all trades, master of none? Photographer? Writer? Mosaicist? A traveler of the red road in a motorhome built for two? We have been traveling in our motorhome on and off for ten years. We have been from Newfoundland to the Baja, from Florida to Vancouver, and many places in between. I have posted tales of our travels, musings on the sights we have seen and the people we met. I have included lots of photographs, as well as tips and suggestions for those considering the RV life style. For now we have sold the motor home and have settled into bouncing between New Hampshire and Florida, so perhaps a change in focus in the Diaries is called for. A Native American who travels “the red road” is walking the earth, following the right path of life by seeking truth, friendship, respect and spirituality. I’m still traveling the Red Road, just not in an RV.
While I like your likes, and I love to get comments, and if you decide to follow the Diaries I’m ecstatic, I ask that you not nominate me for any awards. I appreciate the thought, and I understand their place in the blogosphere, but I don’t want to break the format I’ve set for the Diaries to do all the stuff required to accept such accolades. But, again, thanks for the thought.

We are just in process of choosing a travel trailer and truck and heading out for the next few years, with gaps spent in Europe along the way. So glad I found you or you found me! I will be back and back and back. This is an exciting and scary adventure to be starting out on.
I found your “great Adventure ” post referenced on another site I was looking at. That’s what I love about these blogs, I can travel the world, one link at a time — I’ve wound up in some strange places. You are in Nova Scotia, one of the favorite places we’ve traveled to. We have a house in Florida. We left it with the closets and drawers empty, cherished items packed away and the hope that it rents while we travel…then we don’t have to return for a couple of years. Yes the adventure can seem scary, but many of those issues and concerns you have will take care of themselves…why worry about a future mortgage now? Cross that bridge when you get to it. Life’s too short to expend energy on all those overwhelming “what if’s.” The immediate priorities, like which trailer will suit your needs, or finding a home for you pets (heart wrenching, but critical) are the important ones. Thanks for the explanation of what a “red road” is. Not an expression I’ve heard before.
(I’m no expert but our equivalent might be “going walkabout” = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walkabout)
sounds like a similar origin. Although RVer’s took it from the red lines on the older road maps that delineated smaller back roads.

Thank you, glad you like it. I try and stay in a “Diary” mode, recounting our travels. All the “stuff” you need to do to accept an award gets me too far away from from that structure…I do appreciate the kind thoughts though.

Thank you for your comments and on deciding to follow our travels. I have been taking the winter off, tending to an ailing parent and having surgery on my hand. Typing is still not easy. Time to hit the road again and head off to the wild western U.S., the Canadian Rockies, Vancouver Island and the west coast…a five month journey to places we have not yet been. We leave in three weeks or so. Loved reading about your world wide adventure, you are fortunate to be able to be so free spirited.

Last night i had a dream. Even if i can’t remember it, it must have been very strange, because it made me wake up kinda early, feeling the urge to search “red road diaries” on google. I fell asleep immediately and forgot everything thereafter, until i found out this website on my tablet laying in the night table. I dont even know why im writing this, but this whole thing is creeping the shit out of me.
